I’ve been busier on my Substack in the last month – here’s what I’ve posted.
- Taxing the rich even further to fund government spending is a bad idea. The get out of jail free card favoured by the left is not sound economics – or even politics.
- In order to beat Reform, centre and left leaders need to stop being useless. A cry of despair as mainstream parties focus on political narratives and not on serious policies to address the country’s needs.
- Mr Micawber’s Budget. It could have been worse but lack of serious tax reform matters.
- Anti Labour hysteria reminds me of the 1970s. To read commentary from the right wing press and you’d think Labour was leading the country into the end of civilisation. It gives me flashbacks to the 1970s.
- Learning to live with China. It’s hard to like an openly racist and imperialist country, but China’s heft and history earns it respect.
- The prospect for peace in Ukraine. Russia isn’t winning, but American leaders think it is – which is giving Russia an opportunity.
